Treasure Island VBS

No, we have not taken a pleasure trip to the beach, though one is greatly needed. We have simply survived another week of VBS. This year I co-led the week of insanity and Matt, with the help of one of his youth, played the part of the Pirates - Walker D Plank and Jamaica Jim. They were awesome. If this ministry thing falls through Matt may be able to make a go of it in Hollywood. Our church has some amazing talent. I wish I could show all of you how awesome the decorations were. They truly were over the top. Emma Caroline LOVED every second of it. The best part was that she did not know that her Daddy was Walker D Plank. The last day I took her back to Matt's office while he was still dressed in costume. Her face was priceless as he removed the patch and hat and talked to her. Priceless Priceless!!!!

Kite flying

When you live in a place with wide open spaces, you learn that it is not only good for growing cotton, corn, beans and rice but also for kite flying. There is almost always a good breeze with few trees to block it because of all the fields. One day Emma Caroline decided we needed to fly a kite. So here is Matt and EC doing just that on the field by our church. I put in this picture below of our church for those who have never seen it. I need to take a better one and put it on here so you can see how pretty it is. It is partly surrounded by cotton fields, which looks like a post card during harvest season.
